Results from Graphic Workshop Day One

It’s been a crazy week and i’m rounding it out with an insane weekend. I’m taking an online graphics workshop from some of today’s HOTTEST cover artists in the epublishing world.

After a long night of fiddling with the first lesson, I finally at least got through the lesson and have a picture to share. It’s not perfect but i’m pretty proud of it.

Since I have to create all of my own promotional materials such as banners, postcards, bookmarks, etc. I figured it was high time to learn photoshop a whole lot better.

What better way to do it than from the best.

Have a great weekend!

Proud Mama Squeee!

My oldest child is seventeen today. There should be a loud thunk after that statement because i’m not sure whether to be happy or sad. Where has the time gone and where is my baby? lol

All grown up and doing her own thing these days thats where. My daughter is very artistic, like her father, and a couple of weeks ago even had her first Gallery opening. *cries* I’m so proud of her.

Photography seems to be where most of her focus is going these days and I know she is considering what path it can take her on. And since i’m so excited for her I couldn’t not blog about her today, her birthday…Seventeen.

Here are some of the highlights of her pictures that are being showcased in a Gallery exhibit until mid April.

Yes, that is her guitar and she plays it well. (she is no fun to play Guitar Hero with. she just makes you look bad)

This picture was pressed in between glass in the middle of the room so it was difficult to get a good picture of it. So in case you can’t tell what it is, it is a collection of her movie tickets with the emphasis on Twilight. Yes, she is a teenager and is obsessed with it. But i’ve seen the movie three times myself so who am I to talk?

And the show piece of her collection…the photograph the Gallery chose to enlarge and showcase…

Of course the white spot on this photo is from my bad photography not hers. It’s not easy taking a photo of a photo being lit up by lights at every angle. lol

So Happy Birthday to my baby who I am so proud of.

Thanks for the Imagination prompt generator from Paperback Writer because yes I am one of those who says I have nothing to blog about far too often.

The things you miss while on vacation…

The strangest things seem to happen when I go on vacation. I arrived home after two flights and a long day at 11:30 PM and am now going through emails and such to catch up with what I have missed with my limited connectivity while I was gone.

So i’ve compiled a random list of things that happened while I was gone. Not all are bad, some are good and some are just odd.

What I missed while on vacation:

1. Water pipes in my garage wall busted and flooded my garage.

2. My new release Lucas rose to #5 at Linden Bay Romance and #6 at My Bookstore and More

3. The Inauguration of a new president. (I actually did get to see the ceremony but I missed all the wonderful balls)

4. My daughter caught the Flu

5. The First snow of the season

Vacation Time

The blog is going to be a little lonely for the next few days. I’m on vacation in Vegas and will return mid next week.

Have a good one!
